Sensory Friendly Mass

In support of Church members who live with and assist those with autism, ADHD, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, the Diocese of Des Moines has started offering sensory-friendly liturgies. These Masses feature dimmed lighting, softer music, shorter and more straightforward homilies, and most importantly, environments free of stigma. Families are encouraged to move around if needed, bring alternative seating, and participate in the liturgy as they are. After Mass, there will be a social gathering downstairs in the Parish Center.

The best way to reach the Parish Center is if you are coming from north of St. Joseph and heading south on E. 33rd. Drive to the driveway on your left, which will lead you to the back of the parking lot past the school building, and up into the parking lot next to the automatic doors.
